Help Learners Succeed at Your Clinic
Setting clear expectations is critical for providing a supportive clinical environment for your learners. As a preceptor, there are steps you can take that will not only promote learning, but also give the learner a strong foundation for succeeding at your institution or clinic. For instance, set ground rules right away so that expectations are clear from the beginning. Let your students know that it's ok to be wrong sometimes and that they aren't expected to always know the solution for a problem right away.
